“As near-peer role models, City Year Boston corps members have demonstrated they can dramatically affect students’ academic performance, improve attendance and behavior, energize the school environment, and engage families in school activities.”
-Superintendent Dr. Carol Johnson, Boston Public Schools
City Year corps members are diverse young leaders who are trained to serve full-time to help turn around the lowest performing schools in Boston. Corps members tutor students one-on-one and small group tutoring during classroom time, run lunchtime mentoring sessions and plan and facilitate after-school programs. Corps members receive a stipend and benefits package, including unique leadership and professional development opportunities.
As a tutor and mentor, you will work in high-need neighborhoods where you will become a powerful role model to youth and help students and schools succeed.
