As part of City Year, you will be a “big citizen” joining with diverse and passionate team members who feel a responsibility to their communities and for the well-being of everyone around them.
 
Every day, you will work with other corps members to create an inclusive team – one that is strengthened through the combination of individual experiences and talents.

Wearing the City Year uniform provides a diverse group with a unifying and highly recognizable symbol. When a corps member in uniform is welcomed in a school, community center or neighborhood with the greeting, "Hey, City Year!" - you realize the uniform commands respect, instills pride and embodies an tradition of service.

The unifying spirit of the corps is exemplified by:
