On Martin Luther King, Jr, Day 100 Miami-Dade County middle school students honor the memory of Dr. King as they begin their five-month participation in the City Year Heroes Program.
The inspiring Heroes Opening Ceremony will take place on Monday, January 18, 2010 and will be immediately followed by a day of service at Miami Southridge Senior High School, where City Year Young Heroes, Miami corps members, families, friends, alumni and corporate partners celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through an afternoon of transformative physical service. This event will continue the tradition of City Year making Martin Luther King, Jr. Day a "day on," to commemorate the legacy of Dr. King through community building, serivce and reflection.
