Networking. It’s a word loaded with cringe-worthy connotations. Thoughts of elevator speeches and small talk with strangers can be enough to send some of us running. But despite its bad rap, networking can be one of the best ways to build meaningful connections toward one's desired career path.
In an effort to promote the power of networking City Year’s Northeast Regional Recruitment team is inviting local college students to network with City Year alumni, partners, and local professionals working across a variety of career sectors, including business, technology, law, education, and non-profit.
Want to build your network and learn what it’s like to work in various fields, or to simply become more comfortable with networking? Thinking about a year of service, but unsure how it connects to your future plans? Get insights and advice from those who have been there. The evening will consist of a panel discussion and structured networking sessions, allowing you the opportunity to speak in small groups with professionals and to hear from panelists who will discuss how spending a year mentoring and impacting communities has accelerated their careers.
Don’t let the word “networking” cause you anxiety any longer. RSVP today!
All majors welcome; seniors encouraged.
Dress is business casual.
Refreshments will be provided.
Our final application deadline is April 30.
