MFS Investment Management
Carol W. Geremia, President – Co-Head of Global Distribution
City Year Greater Boston is thrilled to honor MFS Investment Management and Carol W. Geremia, president and co-head of global distribution, with the annual Idealism in Action award.
MFS Investment Management (MFS) is a global investment manager founded in 1924, when it launched America’s first open-end mutual fund. MFS has long been recognized for its strong culture of integrity, collaboration, and commitment to investing responsibly – an approach that is underpinned by a strong belief in long-term thinking. This is reflected both in the way MFS invests, and how it operates. In addition to being avid stewards of its clients’ capital, MFS is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the communities where its employees live and work, championing corporate social responsibility through philanthropy, volunteerism, and strategic partnerships.
MFS has been a valued City Year partner for more than two decades, investing more than $7M to support our mission to advance educational opportunities for Greater Boston’s students. Thousands of MFS employees have engaged in meaningful volunteer service with City Year, providing essential resources for students and teachers, and creating safe and joyful spaces for children to learn and thrive.
Central to this impact is the extraordinary leadership of Carol Geremia, president of MFS and co-head of global distribution. Carol leads the firm’s worldwide client-facing teams as well as product and marketing strategy, and her visionary guidance has been instrumental in shaping MFS and City Year’s partnership. As a trusted City Year advisor and the founding chair of our Women’s Leadership Breakfast, Carol has galvanized support, inspired enthusiasm, and amplified the impact of City Year Greater Boston’s work. Her leadership exemplifies the power of philanthropy and corporate engagement in creating lasting opportunities for young people and communities.
