Spetember 27th - October 3rd: Banned Books Week is the national book community's annual celebration of the freedom to read. It was first created in 1982 in response to the overwhelming cases of censorship nationwide. According to the American Library Association, as many as 1,300 books have been challenged since then. Our AmeriCorps members and staff share their favorite books from the list and encourage the community to keep reading!
