Davine Scarlett was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1987.  When she was young, her family immigrated from the Caribbean to the United States, residing first in Opa Locka and finally in Miami Gardens, FL.  Eventually, her mother and her moved to Miramar, FL, and have resided there ever since.  A graduate of Miramar High School's International Baccalaureate program in 2005, Davine attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and became exposed to AmeriCorps for the first time as a Corps Member with their Jumpstart Washington DC program from 2007-2008.  After completing her studies in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology and Minors in Psychology and English, Davine returned to South Florida to join the newly formed AmeriCorps program, City Year Miami, as the Operations Coordinator for the Young Heroes Team.  After completing her hours of service, Davine enrolled into the Masters in Public Administration Program at Florida International University, graduating in 2013.  Simultaneously, Davine returned to City Year Miami as a Staff member; beginning as a Data and Evaluation Coordinator and eventually becoming the Site Operations and Talent Acquisition Manager.  After four years on staff, Davine transitioned from City Year Miami to serve as a Grants Manager at Camillus House, a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian services to the poor and homeless in Miami-Dade County.

Davine has always been an active alumna of City Year Miami, eventually joining the Alumni Board in 2016 and again as the Board Chair in 2017.  Davine enjoys and duck photos or videos, Game of Thrones recaps, and being a part of the next generations of change agents that come across the doors of the City Year Miami office.
