Manchester is the largest city in New Hampshire. There are fantastic local restaurants, coffee shops, and museums downtown, including the Currier Museum of Art, which is free on Saturdays. Some outdoor attractions include Lake Massabesic and Livingston Park. Manchester is also home to New Hampshire’s minor league baseball team. The mountains, beach, and Boston are all just one hour away.

Average rental cost for a 3-4 bedroom apartment is $350-$400/month. AmeriCorps members typically have 3-4 roommates and live in the East Side and West Side of Manchester.

Transportation

AmeriCorps members receive a free Manchester Transit Authority bus pass for the year. Most AmeriCorps bring their personal vehicle if they own one and carpool with teammates.
