Powerful Results

Since 2000, City Year New Hampshire has made a major impact in the lives of students and communities that we serve. For example, our AmeriCorps members have:

  • Served 1.46 million hours
  • Tutored, mentored, and supported 86,785 students
  • Facilitated 51,000 hours of community service

Recently we measured the success of our Whole School, Whole Child model in Manchester’s schools. Here’s what we discovered:

Improved academics

92% of teachers agreed corps members improved their students' confidence in their ability to learn.
 

Better reading scores

78% of focus list students in grades 3 through 5 increased 2 or more reading levels.
 

Overall support

100% of principals believe that City Year has a positive impact on school climate and that Corps Members serve as positive role models.
